A 1911 HOLIDAY IN JERSEY
The images shown here show holiday photographs taken by an English family and a dog called 'Duncan' going to, during, and leaving the island of Jersey in 1911.
The second image shows a striking image of S.S. Roebuck temporarily beached in St Brelade's Bay after striking the Kaines rocks off Jersey on the 19th July 1911 after leaving Jersey on the way to Guernsey and then Weymouth. The beached ship became a must see attraction for the whole island.
The succeeding photographs then go from the Plemont caves to some bathing scenes.
The trip home to the London Docks shows some interesting outside deck images of the SS. ISLAND QUEEN, ending in a row boat at the London Docks.
