The Blockhouse Filming 1972
Way back in 1972, being only two months out of his teens, Mike Deane had a half day off from work and went up to Pleinmont with his trusty Zeiss Ikon Nettar to see "The Blockhouse" being filmed. This film starred Peter Sellers, Charles Aznavour, Jeremy Kemp, Per Oscarsson and Peter Vaughan, also a few non credited extras were hired, one of them being his father! The film was released in 1973 but proved a flop. For some reason there were no Press photographers at the scene, so Mike took the initiative and took his negatives to the local paper and subsequently some were published.

This was a great scene, The Spitfire is approaching and the forced labourers are escaping from the camp. A German soldier is also seen shooting.
