Margaret Jane Phyllis More Sarel wife of Lt Gov Sarel

This image shows Margaret Jane More Phyllis Sarel (nee Molyneux), Known as Phyllis. She was the wife of the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey (appointed 1883 -1885) - (Died 1887).

Mrs Sarel is wearing the old traditional Guernsey Bonnet not the one we associate as being traditional today - this was only brought to the island from Dorset circa 1850. She had eleven children in total and the young girl shown with her in the photograph maybe one of them.
