He is listed as being 7 months old, but considering the census date was the 7th April 1861, this would make him being born in 1860! He has an elder sister aged 2 called Emily E S.
In the 1871 Census the family are now shown as living at 30 Vauvert Road St Peter Port and William H as being a scholar, born in 1862 and aged 9! He has now 7 siblings.
In the 1881 Census, William H and his family are still living in Vauvert, but now at No 17. William H is now shown as aged 19 and still being born in 1862 - His occupation is a 'Photographic Artist'. There are now 10 children in the house.
No details of the family in the 1891 Census can be found by the author to date.
In the1901 Census, some of the family are living at 16 Vauvert; William H is one of the persons shown as not there.

It is believed that Williams first establishment circa 1882 was at '16 Vauvert Road' as crudely stamped on a back of CDV (see image). He then moved to '3 Vauvert Street' and used a professionally printed CDV (see images). W I Marquand ceased trading in 1881, so it is possible that he took over Marquand's premises.
This is a selected enlargement of the previous image. The photograph has been sent from New Zealand where it has been since c1883 The owner would like to know what is happening in the photo.
