Shown here are images connected to Guernsey farming and glasshouses that have no major Parish connection.

The more recent images show Tomato picking and grading etc undertaken by visiting French girls who stayed at Les Vauxbelets - these photos have been kindly given to the archive by Francoise who came to Guernsey with about 90 other girls for the tomato season in 1968 to work for a Mr Gaudion.

The tomato workers were dispatched around the island for work. At the end of the day the girls were directed to the factory in St St Sampson's to sort out the tomatoes ( the round ones, the oval ones etc...). Francoise's job was relaxed... stamping each box and taking them to the machines...
