The Iron Screw Steamer 'Diana' moored at the White Rock Pier
The Iron Screw Steamer 'Diana' moored at the White Rock Pier

The South Western steamer 'Diana' was in operation from 1876 (or 77). She was lost off Cape La Hague in June 1895. An un corroborated source says the Captain was a Captain Kemp.

In the image, the Steamer is seen loading/unloading cargo at the White Rock Pier.

Curiously, part of one of the masts is missing - this is more than likely bad development of the negative or print as there is no extensive fading apparent on the print.

Location: St Peter Port Harbour Victoria Pier
