A Young Lady Waving In St Sampson's Harbour circa 1910
A Young Lady Waving In St Sampson's Harbour circa 1910

I am not sure who the young lady is waving at, but perhaps it is someone on the quay or more romantically on the bridge of the ship.

The British cargo ship is the SS F. Stobart which was built in 1885 and sank of the coast of Yorkshire on the way to Jersey from Goole in August 1916 after hitting a mine - 4 lives were lost.
