Field Marshall Montgomery & The Bailiff, Sir Ambrose Sherwill

The Right Honourable Bernard Montgomery, 1st Viscount of Alamein also known as Monty and Field Marshal Montgomery came to Guernsey in May 1947.

This photo shows Monty accompanied by the Bailiff, Sir Ambrose James Sherwill inspecting volunteers. The number '79' is written on the back of the photo
