ST PETER PORT HARBOUR AREA 1800's

These images were taken in the environs of St Peter Port harbour in the 1800's. The photographers names are listed when known.

Castle Cornet prior to connection to Guernsey - A close up

This close up of the previous image shows Castle Cornet in all its glory before any harbour works connected it to the island.

The new harbour works started with a foundation being laid on 24th August 1853.

On the shore can be seen two wheel barrows, maybe they were waiting to take some baggage onshore from a visiting boat.
