Douglas Brehaut RGLI # 884

This picture has been sent in by Colin Brehaut and it shows his Great Uncle Douglas Brehaut RGLI Reg # 884.

He was the son of William and Ellen (nee Le Lacheur) from Mont Val, rue du Bordage St Peters. He was born on 4th September 1897 and believed to have died on 21st January 1918.

The best information Colin hase is that Douglas was guarding some POWs and one of them threw a grenade which killed him. There are varied dates for his death, either November 1917 or January 1918. Perhaps he was wounded in the November and died in the January.
