St Julian's Avenue 1872 Zoom1

This photograph was more than likely taken in early 1872, as wooden boarding closing the bottom of St Julian's Avenue can be seen indicating commencement of work.

The building on the right with its gable to the end of the road, was one of the buildings which was subsequently demolished to give a wider road.

Work first started on this new road on 25th March 1872 and was finished and opened for public use on 1st April 1873.
